Anandamayi Ma Mantra Meditation :)

Hello beautiful people,
    I write this from the uk where I am back after quite a long time away. It is lovely to be around family and friends and I'm feeling rather pampered since a) I'm over 8 months pregnant now so no one is letting me do much of anything and b) with no guests to look after, no dogs for me to look after here and no endless renovations on my plate I have a lot more free time on my hands!

    I'm very much looking forward to returning to lead the Sunday Mantra singing group I started in Hampton some years ago.

    In the light of this I wanted to share a classic mantra that the Hampton Love Collective has sung right since the very beginning called: Anandamayi Ma.

  This is a beautiful traditional kirtan sung call and response style to fill your life with Divine Mother energy. This one honours motherhood in all its forms and the endless love and light we receive in the form of food, light, and all the bountiful goodness of nature... and of course this one is a great one to practice in order to generate Bliss.

Yoga For Letting Go Video

This week I wanted to take a look at a theme that comes up time and time again in yoga classes and in life: Letting go.

     Having the ability to let go of things can make a huge difference to the quality of our lives and its benefits are (at least) three fold:

1.Change is the only constant so no matter how much we hope certain things won't change- eventually they will! So practicing the ability to let go allows us to gracefully adapt to necessary change.

2. Most of us acquire habits, thought patterns, and behaviours that do not really serve us. Learning to let go of these traits can dramatically reduce our internal sense of suffering.

3. Even good things can become a burden when we have too much of them in our lives. For example our possessions can be a wonderful attribute to our lives, but if we have too many of them our homes become cluttered and disorganised and at a certain point the downsides outweigh the benefits.       We have just headed through Spring Equinox and so we are officially on route for more sunshine, more warmth, and more opportunities for cleaning up house both within us and in our outside lives.     This is a great time of year to set intentions and to detoxify your body with healthy eating, cleanses,  and of course yoga!

Yoga, Mantras and Meditation for Unsettling Times

Hello Beautiful People,
    How are you? 
     ....No really- How are you?

 There is no question that these last few days have been unsettling.

   Everybody is being affected by the impact of Corona, and the measures that are being taken to control it. Many people are afraid, many people are deeply stressed. 

  My heart goes out to every single person affected by this (including myself!), and in my heart I feel deep surrender that everything- even this is part of the flow.Everything is an opportunity to surrender, to trust Life,  and to define who each of us want to be in relation to all the things happening

Do I want to be kind? / Do I want to be selfish?
 Do I want to be afraid? / Do I want to trust? 

  How can I be of most service? 

  How can I learn to let go of fear about the things that I cannot control. 

   The external world seems to be going crazy, so for myself I am finding deep refuge in attending to my daily needs, looking after those who cross my path as best I can, and then ret…
